Frogs in Space:

Rotation in Microgravity

Because gravity can be used to rescue the classic UV phenotype that results from failures in subcortical rotation, Xenopus early development was a logical candidate for inclusion on science missions sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of its Space Shuttle program. Although the Challenger disaster and several other delays pushed these experiments back several years, the crucial experiments were finally performed.
